2009-2010 Tournament Information
 

Following is a list of tournaments in the Northeast Area that Shrewsbury teams might elect to participate in. Some of these tournaments have been attended by Shrewsbury teams in the past, others are new. There may be other tournaments in the area that are not included here. If you would like to help the organization expand the list of known tournaments, please send tournament information to . Please note that the Shrewsbury Youth Hockey Organization does not endorse or promote any of these as being good or bad tournaments for any team in the organization. This information is provided only as a convenience for selecting tournaments, any information about pricing, level, dates, and availability is subject to change without notice by the tournament hosts.

As always, tournament selections and arrangements are the responsibility of the Head Coach and the Team Manager. Tournaments should be scheduled with as much lead time as possible!

Conflict forms must be completed and submitted to the league director as soon as you have a tournament commitment. Please note the cutoff dates for submitting conflict forms:

NESC - conflict forms must be in by OCTOBER 12 for any date before 12/31/09, and by DECEMBER 7th for dates between 1/1/10 and 4/25/10.

NorthStar - conflict forms must be in AT LEAST 30 days prior to the conflict date. It is STRONGLY recommended to complete the form PRIOR to the schedule being issued.

Remember that both leagues reserve the "right to refuse" a request to move a scheduled game.

It is generally advised that you do not schedule any tournaments that are held later than the second week in March, due to the beginning of league playoffs, state playoffs and tryout sessions.

All tournament fees are the responsibility of the Team. SYHA fees do not include any tournaments. The advised method of payment is for the Team Manager or coach to pay for the tournament directly and then collect reimbursement from the players.

Travel Permits - If your team is traveling for an away tournament outside of Massachusetts, a travel permit form needs to be submitted to Mass Hockey. This is so as to ensure that our teams are insured for play outside the state. Please contact the tournament director if you choose to participate in an out of state tournament to arrange the required paperwork. Note: The permit needs to be mailed in at least 3 weeks before your tournament, so don’t wait until the last minute.
