HUNGRY??? We have lots of great restaurants geared toward families. Ask any of the volunteers for directions. Listed below are just a few:
The Outback Steakhouse: Great steaks and burgers located at 227 Turnpike Road, Westboro, MA just down the road from Northstar. Phone 508-366-4400.
Cheng Du: Great Chinese restaurant located conveniently on Rte 9—a short distance from the hotel and the rink. 157 Turnpike Rd Westboro, MA. Phone: 508-366-9098.
The Chateau: Great Italian food catering to families. 95 Turnpike Rd Westboro—just a hop from the hotel and rink. This place tends to be busy so I would call ahead for reservations: 508-366-5959.
Uno Chicago Grill: Great pizzas, pastas and more!! Located at 225 Turnpike Road (Rte 9) in Westboro. Phone: 508-616-0300. Down the road from the rink and about 1.5 miles from the hotel.
Bertucci’s in Westboro: Great pizzas, pastas, and more. Located near you at the hotel and rink. 160 Turnpike Road (Rte9) Westboro. Phone: 508-898-3074.
Il Forno Italian Restaurant: Located at 30 Lyman Plaza. Phone: 508-366-1955. Mouthwatering Italian food not to be missed. The place is small so call ahead.
Of course we have several Friendly’s in the area, as well as the usual Dunkin Donuts on about every block. They open early to meet your caffeine needs for the early games.
If you are in the mood for quick Mexican fare—let me steer you to Moe’s Southwest Grill located at 61 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury. All natural ingredients—you would love it. Has a kids menu as well. Seats in or take out. Welcome to Moe’s!!
If you are adventurous you must visit Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. This is down Rte 9 and bear left at the light by UMASS hospital. They have award winning restaurants located on one long city street—a must for the visitor to Central Mass.
One Eleven Chop House 111 Shrewsbury Street has the best steaks this side of Chicago. Can get busy so call ahead: 508-799-4111.
Bugaboo Creek: Located in Shrewsbury White City district. 50 Boston Turnpike (Rte 9) Phone: 508-755-6600. Talking animals. Good burgers, steaks, and onion rings. Great for families. A chain restaurant so you know what to expect.
Vinny T’s of Boston: 7 Boston Turnpike (Rte 9) Shrewsbury. Phone: 508-755-0900. Great atmosphere—wonderful Italian food on the waterfront. What more could you ask? Good for families. Good selection of wines and of course beer.

What is there to do in Central Massachusetts???? We are a hotbed of activities from our mountains for skiing to our museums, and of course the Worcester Sharks!! The Sharks have home games on Friday March 20, 2010 at 7:05 vs. the Providence Bruins. Tickets at the door. Check out the Sharks at www.sharksahl.com

Christmas Tree Shops: Off Rte 9 and Rte 20 in Shrewsbury. Unique shops and restaurants to meet all needs.
Solomon Pond Mall: Marlboro. Typical mall—usual stores.
Hockey:
JJ’s in Northstar. Great skate sharpening, pads, sticks, gloves, mouthguards, tape—you name it. JJ will get it for you.

Museums:
Higgins Armory Museum: 100 Barber Ave Worcester, MA 508-853-6015. Historical war museum with armoured knights and weaponry. Great for the big kid and little kid alike.
YMCA at the Boroughs: 4 Valente Drive Westborough. 508-870-1320. Pool, basketball court, running track, treadmills, elliptical, bikes, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi. Guests welcome. Right off Rte 9 and Rte 20 about 5 minutes from Northstar.
AMF Bowling Centers: 405 Boston Turnpike (Rte 9). 508-754-7050. Many lanes, bumper bowling, pool. Snacks. Great for the whole family.
Medical Emergencies: We are fortunate to be located in the midst of two great hospitals. Hopefully, the need won’t arise but if it should and it is an emergency call 911. Otherwise, you can visit the ER at: UMASS Memorial 55 Lake Ave North Worcester, MA. Located on Rte 9.
